Filename Tool runs in the browser. Structured JSON and batch filename lists are not uploaded to Filename Tool, and no account or remote API is involved.
Batch processing uses a hidden page from the same FilenameTool.com origin. It normally operates on filename strings. If the user explicitly chooses a local directory, matching files and their available metadata are read locally through the existing drag-and-drop workflow. Filename Tool cannot access files from a typed path alone, and it cannot move or rename files on the device.
As with any website visit, the hosting provider may receive ordinary request metadata needed to deliver the static site. With that exception, the user remains anonymous to Filename Tool. The submitted filename data remains in the browser.
FilenameTool.com doesn’t use AI itself. It does try to make the tool accessible to the user’s own AI agent, should the user so desire.
